Start Yachting Course Content - (SY)

​This course provides a short introduction to sail cruising for complete beginners. By the end of the course participants will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, rope work and be aware of safety on board. RYA recommends this course should be for eight and upwards.

 

PRE-COURSE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
None

 

ABILITY AFTER THE COURSE
Basic understanding of sailing including the ability to tie a variety of knots, experience of steering under power and sailing on all points of sail. You will also be able to use winches, obtain weather forecast and know what to do when a man overboard.

2 days and 2 nights living aboard
